Dr Ceri Lewis from University of Exeter explains why urgent action is required on ocean literacy.

Dr Ceri Lewis is a lead researcher within the Convex Seascape project, studying tiny creatures who live on the seafloor and their role in carbon storage. She’s passionate about helping young people to understand how important the ocean is for a healthy planet, and how we need to protect it.

The Convex Seascape Survey team have developed an innovative education hub to support educators worldwide to embed the ocean’s role in climate regulation, carbon storage and climate change mitigation into lessons for all ages. Several researchers have played a key role in this programme, and Ceri has even starred in some fascinating live lessons, bringing the fascinating underwater world to life for students.
